Scotland is at the heart of this fourth-generation family-run business. First established in 1895, McGowans began as a humble market stall in the East End of Glasgow. In 1930, the business moved into the city centre, firstly to Sauchiehall Street, where they grew in popularity over the years and developed life-long friendships with many of their loyal customers.
As the reputation of McGowans continued to grow, so did the need for more stores. They continued to develop with multiple stores in Scotland, becoming known as McGowans; the engaging people! They now operate from our two boutiques in Glasgow’s iconic Argyll Arcade and online.
