April New Media Breakfast: SEO – Does Google Still love you?

SEO in 2018
DOES GOOGLE STILL LOVE YOU?

DATE: Friday 27th April 2018

TIME: 7.30am for 8am

VENUE: 29 Club, 29 Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow

Google used to define success by how quickly it could get a searcher to the right website.  It was the website owner’s best friend.  Huge amounts of free traffic was available to all.

But that was then, this is now.   The organic search opportunity is still huge but it’s a very different one to what it used to be.  This breakfast will look at what’s changed and what this means for your search engine optimisation strategy.

Everyone is aware that ranking factors have evolved over time and that you have to evolve your tactics with it.  As we do every year at the breakfast, you’ll learn what is and what isn’t working.

This year we will also ask you when was the last time you thought about changing the type of keywords you are targeting?  We’ll show you how to combat Google’s moves to get us to pay for clicks and keep searchers in the Google universe.

This breakfast though is for you, so we will shape the content to what you want to know.  Once you’ve signed up tell us what you want to hear here.  So whether we talk about tech trends such as mobile search, voice search, Amazon search and the way Google is changing or just have good straight forward discussions such as content marketing for SEO and how to budget for SEO will be down to you.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This will be a very useful session for anyone with a website or anybody who is managing a website.  SEO is an essential element for all websites and it is important to keep up to date with the latest from Google, the biggest search engine of them all.

SPEAKER

Tim Barlow is managing director and founder of Attacat, an online marketing agency in Edinburgh that was nominated by Google for their “Outstanding Premier Partner award in 2016 and is well renowned for helping innovative companies drive sales from search engines. Tim has guided the New Media Breakfast audience through the maze of search engine marketing over the last 8 years, so we are delighted to welcome him back in 2018.

Tim has long advocated a “No short-cuts” approach to SEO – a strategy that is repeatedly shown to be valid as Google and other search engines have consistently improved their ability to detect efforts to game the system.
